Why Choose Premium Rubber Tracks?

There are many benefits to using rubber track systems as opposed to wheeled skid steers and tires. Some benefits are:

  • Improved Traction
  • Enhanced Flotation
  • Lower ground pressure
  • Smoother Ride
  • Easy Maneuver and Control over Uneven Terrain
  • Higher Productivity over a shorter time

However, since these tracks are mostly made of rubber, they need to be strong enough to withstand harsh environmental conditions, continuous flexing, torque from the heavy equipment as well as abrasions.

There are four major factors to consider when investing in a rubber track system:

1. Natural Rubber:

Crumb (recycled) rubber might seem like a cheaper alternative but don’t be fooled! The lower price translates to this – the rubber track will have a much more shorter service life. Rubber tracks made from recycle rubber tend to chip away and tear much quickly, especially when exposed to harsh weather and environmental conditions. Also, they are not able to withstand the strain from the continuous running of a heavy equipment. Using rubber tracks made of crumb raises your operating costs and in the long-run, they turn out to be a pretty bad investment.

That is why Monster Tires only offers rubber tracks made from natural or virgin rubber, blended with high-quality synthetics. Rubber tracks made with rubber blended in with synthetics are tougher and much more durable than just plain rubber which tends to dry rot with frequent exposure to sunlight and friction.

2. Heavy-duty Steel Lugs

It is important for your undercarriage system to have a smooth, stable rolling path to run on. Properly working solid steel links or lugs guarantees this for your system. It ensures that the track can effortlessly hold and withstand the operational weight of your machine at maximum load as it operates over different terrains, especially uneven ones.

Quality lugs also provide a solid grip for the drive sprocket on your track to prevent the track from slipping.

3. Vulcanized Rubber-Coated Steel Cables

To prevent jagged-edged and other sharp or unwanted foreign objects from damaging the steel core of your tracks, our premium rubber tracks are embedded with continuous steel cables that are wrapped with about 3/16” of vulcanized rubber. Vulcanized rubber is much more durable than just natural rubber because of the additives put in to strengthen the rubber. This is great especially on harsher terrains because the vulcanized rubber coating prevents the steel embedded within from being corroded and ultimately damaged.

4. Flexural Strength System

Usually, when operating your CTL, there is continual flexing that occurs on the tracks. Premium grade tracks are made of a softer compound on the inner part of the track that provides the desired flexibility needed to prevent unnecessary wear and tear as the tracks engage with the undercarriage of your system. The outer layer of the track is made with tougher, stronger compounds that offer higher durability. This stronger outer layer ensures that the track can withstand the incessant strain and abuse that occurs on harsher terrains like rocky surfaces.

The premium grade rubber tracks we offer take into consideration all the factors we discussed above – they are made from virgin/natural rubber; they offer the flexural strength system; they use quality steel lugs and the embedded steel cables are wrapped with premium vulcanized rubber.

Compact Track Loaders, Mini Excavators, and other heavy equipment have to work efficiently under a wide range of working conditions.

There are a bunch of factors that have to be considered when choosing a rubber track to ensure its longevity:

  • Friction
  • Temperatures
  • Environmental hazards

The rubber tracks we offer at Monster Tires take into consideration these factors and are strong enough to withstand friction, harsh weather conditions, and temperatures as well as other environmental hazards you might encounter with your equipment.

Keeping your Rubber Tracks Clean

Also remember that it is important to keep your rubber tracks clean by pressure washing them after use. This minimizes the possibility of track friction with debris that may get lodged in the tracks while the equipment is in use, which in turn extends the service life of your tracks.
